The Expositions in this volume were originally given as Sunday morning lectures. They are printed in deference to the wishes of members of my congregation, who, finding them helpful when first delivered, desire to possess them in more permanent form. They do not lay claim to any originality. I have derived help from many quarters, especially from the expositions of the Lord’s Prayer written by Dr. Dods and Dr. Stanford respectively.
